Syllabus: Master in Civil Engineering
Once students have completed their Bachelor Degree studies (1st cycle), they may further pursue the Master in Civil Engineering (2nd cycle), consisting of two years and a total of 120 ECTS credits (60 ECTS credits per year). This Master enables advanced training for regulated professional activities. Only 50 students will be able to enter every year in our Master Program.
The Master includes 75 ECTS credits of Compulsory (CP) subjects, 15 ECTS credits of Specific Technology (ST) subjects, 12 ECTS credits of Placements in Companies and 18 ECTS credits for the Final Master Project. The Master is divided into five modules: Module I of Advanced Scientific and Technological Training, Module II of Specific Technology, Module III of Speciality, Module IV of Innovation, Planning and Project Management in Civil Engineering, and Module V of Placements in Companies and the Final Master Project. Each module consists of one or several topics belonging to a given area of knowledge, and each topic encloses a group of closely-related subjects.
There is a large fraction of CP subjects (75 ECTS credits), so that both well-founded and broad training are guaranteed. The students may choose one among the following three specialization tracks (15 ECTS credits) offered: Construction, Structures and Geotechnical Engineering; Water and Environmental Engineering; and Transportation Engineering, Urban and Regional Planning.
